When you choose to sign in using your Google account, we receive the following information from Google solely to create and manage your account:
- Google User ID — to authenticate your identity
- Email address — to identify your account and enable communication
- Display name and profile picture — to populate your Coffiend profile
We request only the minimum permissions necessary: openid, email, and profile.
2. How We Use Your Information
Information obtained from Google is used to:
- Create and manage your Coffiend account
- Authenticate you securely when you sign in
- Display your name and avatar within the app
- Reduce the need to enter credentials manually
We do not use your Google data for advertising or sell it to any third party.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, our database and authentication provider
- Authentication tokens are managed by Supabase and are never exposed to the browser in plaintext
- We follow industry-standard practices to prevent unauthorised access
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share data obtained via Google with third parties except:
- When required by applicable law
- With trusted infrastructure providers (e.g. Supabase, Vercel) who are subject to strict confidentiality obligations and process data only on our behalf
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Authorisation: You can choose to sign in with Google or use email and password instead — Google sign-in is entirely optional
- Revoking access: You can revoke Coffiend's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions
